My computer won't load simple online games that it used to load?

I used to be able to play games like yahoo's text twist and typershark. but now my computer will not load the games. is there an add on or something i need to download?My computer won't load simple online games that it used to load?
Often games update their software and become unusable until you have the latest updates. Also, sometimes I switch to a browser that I don't normally use that doesn't have the updates for flash and such, and run into the same problem.
